Our Math Tutors

Looking for a good tutor? Our team is excellent! Each instructor is carefully selected. Not only are they skilled in math, but they all share a passion and dedication for teaching and helping students deepen their understanding, confidence and success in math.

Our Tutors:

• Are experienced credentialed teachers or tutors with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. Many have Master’s degrees, as well.
• Create safe, nonjudgmental learning environments. We know this is critical when it comes to learning math!
• Are patient, enabling students to feel at ease with the learning process, while holding high but attainable standards for their mathematical growth.
• Are efficient in assessing gaps in a student’s mathematical foundation and the best style in which to fill them in while supporting them with current curriculum.
• Have a love for teaching and respect for your child’s learning needs.
• Know how to motivate students to succeed.

Education Director & Co-founder

Kingsley Swett has always had a passion for teaching.  She was inspired by her father who taught special education for forty years and her grandmother who was a private educator to the Wrigley children (Wrigley Field/Wrigley gum).  Kingsley holds teaching credentials in both Mathematics and Science.  Kingsley has taught in the classroom for over 20 years.  She has taught all grade levels with the majority of her years teaching math at high schools in Marin and San Francisco. She also ran her own all-subject tutoring company for close to 10 years.  Realizing math was by far the most requested subject for tutoring support, Excel Math Tutors was born.

In addition, Kingsley’s experience as a Master Teacher, training student teachers in SFSU’s credential program, helped her develop a keen sense in identifying successful teachers.  She uses this sense in selecting Excel Math’s excellent team of tutors.  It shows in the academic results and satisfaction of our Excel Math students and families!

Business Director & Co-founder

Wenda Arcala has over 25 years of business experience at Boeing & McDonnell Douglas, collaborating with NASA on space exploration projects.  Wenda has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach.

As the mother of two, and co-parent of three additional children, she understands the academic challenges facing kids today especially in the math arena.  In addition to her children, Wenda supports teens from across the country in developing their confidence, love of self, and appreciation of life. Wenda combines her nurturing character and strong business acumen to create a thriving environment for both students and tutors at Excel Math Tutors.
